Hulk Hogan tweeted support for President Donald Trump recently and now his comment section is running wild. The wrestling legend, who isn’t known for his political positions, recently retweeted a UFC fighter who was on the campaign trail for Trump. Twitter seems split over Hogan’s seeming endorsement.
Hogan retweeted mixed martial artist Tito Ortiz, who recently appeared at a Latinos For Trump rally in Las Vegas with Eric Trump.
“Another step to victory! @EricTrump and I were here in #LasVegas to inspire and motivate Latino AmeriCan to be the best we can be for our families and our country. @LatinoswithTrump #Trump2020,” Ortiz posted and Hogan retweeted.
That sent Hogan’s replies into a tail spin. Some fans were excited.
Though others were less enthused.
There were a number of replies in both camps.
Hulk Hogan is a Long-Time Trump Supporter
Donald Trump loves wrestling. His former Atlantic City casino hosted a number of World Wrestling Entertainment events in the 1980s and 90s. And he was frequently spotted in the front row big wrestling events. In addition to being a fan, he’s even got into the ring. The president wrestled WWE CEO Vince McMahon at Wrestlemania 23 in 2007 and won in what was dubbed “The Battle of the Billionaires.” Trump was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.
So, it’s not surprising that wrestlers love him.
Hulk Hogan and Donald Trump have been friends for decades. He once even declared Trump a Hulkamaniac in a bizarre promo from 1988. But the Hulkster’s affinity for Trump the politician is less pronounced. Though he has praised the president publicly before.
Hogan thanked God for Trump’s 2016 victory over Hillary Clinton. “Thank you God for the highly favored miracle, thank you for the shift and thank you for the truth! Only one love HH4Life,” he tweeted just after the election.
