On Friday, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones reacted to President Donald Trump testing positive for the coronavirus in an interview with 105.3 The Fan.
For now, Jones does not seem too worried about Trump’s diagnosis. The famous owner said he is “very confident” the president will recover in due time.
“Knowing him, he’ll be able to go right on through this and hopefully not miss a beat,” Jones said confidently.
In fact, the Cowboys owner says he’s sure that Trump will still be able to effectively do his job as he deals with the virus.
“No one in the world has the ability to handle this COVID any better than the office of the President of the United States,” Jones told 105.3 The Fan. “I’m very confident that he’ll be able to continue governing. I’m sure that he has anticipated this. Knowing him, he’s the hardest worker you’ve ever seen.”
Donald Trump Tests Positive for COVID-19
Early Friday morning, President Trump announced that he and the first lady tested positive for the coronavirus. In addition, he said the couple have already gone into quarantine.
As of Friday, the president supposedly has only experienced “mild” symptoms related to the virus. Trump also seemed confident he would beat the virus over the coming days. He added in his official announcement, “We will get through this TOGETHER!”
Jones and Trump have been friendly dating back years. Accordingly, it makes sense that Jones gave a vote of confidence for the president’s speedy recovery.
However, others in the world of sports have not been as sympathetic to Trump’s diagnosis. On Friday, former NFL running back Reggie Bush shared his theory that Trump’s positive test was “all a game and it’s all a reality TV show.”
Bush also took to Twitter to question the timing of the positive diagnosis.
