Not everyone was a fan of First Lady Melania Trump’s Republican National Convention speech Tuesday night. Comedian Kathy Griffin took to Twitter to voice her displeasure. In a profanity-laced tweet, Griffin wrote: “Seriously, f— this b—-.”

Melania Trump called for a stop to violence and looting.

Trump delivered her 25-minute keynote speech in the recently remodeled Rose Garden. She spoke to 100 guests including White House officials and members of Trump’s Cabinet. She highlighted President Trump’s plan to strengthen the country in his second term and also called for unity.

“There are no words to describe how honored, humbled and fortunate I am to serve our nation as your First Lady,” Trump said during the speech.

During her address, Trump touched upon the major issues of the past few months: the COVID_19 pandemic, and the protests against police brutality and racial inequality. Nation-wide protests continued this week with renewed focus after the police shooting of Jacob Blake.

“It is a harsh reality that we are not proud of parts of our history,” Trump also said. “Stop the violence and looting being done in the name of justice.”

Kathy Griffin has long been a critic of Donald Trump’s presidency.

In 2017, Griffin posted a picture of her holding a mask of President Trump with fake blood. Griffin said the stunt was satire, but the public criticized her actions. As a result, Griffin lost her comedy tour and endorsement deals. Soon after, the federal government investigated her for conspiracy to assassinate the President of the United States. She also received death threats.

While initially apologetic, Griffin revealed in an interview with CBS News that she no longer regrets the photo.

“I think a lot of people would love it if I said, ‘Oh, I wish I had never taken that pictureI wish I had never cursed. I wish I had never made this comment or that comment.’ But the most important thing that I hope people see is that, long after I kick the bucket, they see the crazy red-haired lady didn’t go down,” Griffin said.

So far, Griffin’s tweet has received a strong vocal response online.
