Kelly Clarkson will soon be releasing new music. And, she is teaming up with an old friend to bring the new song to her fans.
Hoot won “The Voice” with Kelly Clarkson as his mentor. So, it’s not surprising that the two would join forces. And, in true Kelly Clarkson style, she really celebrates the accomplishments of another singer and encourages her fans to support him.
“From #TeamKelly on @NBCTheVoice to putting out your own EP, I’m so proud of you @jakehootmusic!!! Everyone go give it a listen and check out our collaboration #IWouldveLovedYou!! The music video for it will not come out on Monday, 2/1. … #LoveOutofTime.”
The Twitter post also includes a clip from Kelly Clarkson’s and Jake Hoot’s duet.
Twitter users expressed excitement after Kelly Clarkson’s announcement on Thursday.
“I have already listed to your song, #iwouldvelovedyou 10 times today, and 10 times yesterday,” one user posted. “It’s such an awesome song. I love the way your voices sound, and how you harmonized so beautifully in this song, together.”
“I’ve had this on repeat on #AppleMusic since midnight on the night it came out,” another said. “Gorgeous song and vocals.”
“Best @NBCTheVoice coach ever! #iwouldvelovedyou deserves a live performance with an orchestra,” one user posted.
Jake Hoot won season 17 of The Voice. His road to victory began with his audition when he sang “When It Rains It Pours.”
Hoot’s win allowed him to showcase his original song, “Better Off Without You” and to perform at the Grand Ole Opry during February 2020. Hoot continues to work on new music, but he continues to work a day job. He recently told CMT that he works as a sales executive for radio stations in Cookeville, Tennessee.
Kelly Clarkson Performs Classic Songs on Television Show
While she is spending a lot of her time these days hosting “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” the singer continues to get behind a microphone and share her voice with the world.
Through “Kellyoke,” a frequent segment on her show, Clarkson gets to perform her renditions of some of her favorite songs. For example, earlier in January she sang The Chicks hit song, “Sin Wagon.” And, boy, did she do the band proud.
Clarkson’s voice is powerful in her take on a song about a woman deciding to make a life for herself and separating from a bad relationship. She clearly enjoys performing the upbeat track. “He pushed me ’round/Now I’m drawin’ the line/He lived his life/Now I’m gonna go live mine/I’m sick of wastin’ my time,” she sings.
The song is also about embracing the part in most of us that wants to raise a little hell from time to time. “Well now I’ve been good for way too long/ Found my red dress and I’m gonna throw it on/’Bout to get too far gone,” the song continues.
Clarkson has also recently performed “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac and “Rainbow” by Kacey Musgraves on her show.
