Actress Kirstie Alley claims to have lost thousands of social media followers for endorsing President Donald Trump’s reelection bid.
Alley was asked if she had lost Twitter follows by a social media user who seems confused by why she is no longer an Alley follower.
“Have you lost followers?” the Twitter user asks. “I’ve been following you for a while and I logged on tonight and Twitter suggests I follow you and turns out I no longer follow you?
Alley answers the question telling the fan that she has indeed lost a lot of online followers.
“Thousands,” she says. “People tell me this is a lot.”
Alley doesn’t seem to distraught over the loss as she concludes her tweet with a red heart emoji.
Alley Voices Trump Support
The actress took a great deal of criticism after Tweeting her support for Trump’s reelection campaign. She says she plans on voting for Trump to serve four more years in office.
“I’m voting for @realdonaldtrump because he’s NOT a politician,” she tweets. “I voted for him four years ago for this reason and shall vote for him again for this reason. He gets things done quickly and he will turn the economy around quickly. There you have it folks there you have it.”
Alley’s tweet brought much social media attention to the actress. While some supported Alley’s views, others were critical of her Trump support.
“I am just curious, tell me again what are his plans for doing anything?” a Twitter user asks. “Just one thing, because I as of yet have gotten that part in briefing, campaigns or his interviews. He talks a lot on what he is going to do, but nothing has any action so far this whole year!”
After receiving backlash for the tweet, Alley doubled down with another tweet encouraging voters to “stick to their guns.”
“Stick to your guns,” she says. “Not always easy to be under fire but always easier than going against your integrity. Just remember: If it takes thousands to try and bring you down, you must be one powerful ‘Mfer.’ Love wins.”
She follows up the tweet with three muscle emojis and two heart emojis.
