Krispy Kreme Releases New Caramel-Flavored Donuts for Fall

by Thad Mitchell

Lovers of fall food can rejoice as Krispy Kreme announced Monday they will introduce a new doughnut just for the autumn season. And no, it isn’t a pumpkin spice doughnut.

The doughnut chain tweeted out its two newest sweet treat inventions that will be made available starting today (Monday). Behold the caramel glaze and salted caramel crunch doughnuts:

The Krispy Kreme tweet describes the two new flavors as rich and delicious. They are also only available for a limited time so you have until November 22 to give the new doughnut creation a try.

Known for their ultra-sweet glazed doughnuts, the Krispy Kreme company tries to keep things fresh by introducing new flavors at times. A company spokeswoman says the doughnuts are expected to be a smash hit.

“There are a lot of caramel lovers out there and if you’re one of them, this doughnut is going to blow your mind,” said Dave Skena, chief marketing officer for Krispy Kreme. “It’s incredibly delicious and you’re going to need to take a moment for yourself and just be one with caramel awesomeness. It has been a year, to say the least. You’ve earned it.”

Krispy Kreme’s New Flavor Draws Social Media Reaction

When news of the caramel flavored doughnuts hit social media, several Krispy Kreme fans took to Twitter to express their excitement.

Caramel is the latest in a lineup of innovative glaze flavors Krispy Kreme has introduced in recent years, including chocolate, lemon, blueberry, strawberry and coffee.

Krispy Kreme made headlines earlier this month by offering up doughnuts as an incentive to participate in the presidential election.
