Medical examiners determined that Lisa Marie Presley’s son Benjamin Keough’s cause of death was suicide by gunshot wound. The heartbreaking news came on Tuesday after an autopsy was completed on the 27-year-old’s body.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office officially called the cause of death an “intraoral shotgun wound,” Fox News reports. Confirming previous reports, the Medical Examiner also officially listed the manner of death as a suicide.

A representative for Lisa Marie Presley’s family shared a statement following her son’s death. “She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley,” the statement reads. “She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.”

Benjamin Keough was the grandson of iconic musician Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley. His parents are Lisa Marie, 52, and musician Danny Keough.

While many of his family members garnered public attention, Benjamin lived a relatively private life. However, he did take after his grandfather’s and mother’s musical talents and signed a $5 million record deal in 2009. Other than a few acting credits under his name, the general public knows little else about Benjamin.

Most fans remember Benjamin for his striking resemblance to Elvis. Lisa Marie once commented on how he looks almost identical to his famous grandfather. “Ben does look so much like Elvis. He was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage,” Lisa Marie said, according to TMZ. She continued by adding: “Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny.”

Reportedly, Lisa Marie’s wrote her song, “Storm and Grace,” about her son. Benjamin’s middle name is Storm.
