Man Fights With Security at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row, Later Dies at Hospital

A man died in Nashville Monday night after he was restrained by several members of security while at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row bar.

While the events surrounding his death are somewhat murky, early reports indicate the man got into some kind of altercation with security after he was asked to leave.

According to police reports, the man was at the rooftop bar around 11 p.m. when the incident occurred. Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row bar is located in Nashville’s lower Broadway. The area is a popular place for tourists as well as a hot spot of country bars and restaurants.

Several police officers were called to the scene. The unnamed man was being detained by members of the bar’s security team.

When officers arrived at the scene, the man was unresponsive. Details about what led the man to be unresponsive are unknown.

Witnesses said several emergency vehicles arrived at the scene where officials were conducting CPR on the man.

“We were up there on the third floor, we were sitting on the balcony. We were just outside to get some air and next thing you know, we see like five ambulances, a bunch of fire trucks, cops,” one witnesses said.

The witness went on:

“We saw some guy come out on a stretcher and they were pumping him, giving him CPR on his way out of the bar,” he added.

The man was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities said the man’s death is being investigated as a homicide. No other details have been released.

Country Stars Drawn to Nashville Bar Scenes

Despite the recent tragedy in downtown Nashville, the scene is generally a friendly one – with lots of country star-owned bars.

Adding her name to the long list of celebrity bar-owners is Miranda Lambert. She also happens to be the first female country artist to open an establishment in Nashville’s lower Broadway.

“In true Miranda Lambert fashion, the two-time Grammy Award winning artist will make history in 2021 by partnering with TC Restaurant Group to become the first female country star to have a bar and restaurant on Broadway in Nashville, Tennessee,” the company said. “TC Restaurant Group and Miranda Lambert are excited to release more details in the coming week.”

The singer’s bar, Casa Rosa, is a multi-level 17, 400 square foot building in Nashville’s hot spot. The singer added her name to the long list of stars that own property in the area. Lambert announced her plans for the bar back in March of this year.
