Mark Cuban Shares Wholesome Photo of Delonte West on Horseback Amid Recovery

Mark Cuban has posted an update on former NBA star Delonte West on his Twitter account.

Owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, shared a now-viral picture of Delonte West on horseback. He captioned the photo “Ladies & Gentlemen, I present to you, Delonte West. A long, long, long way to go, but he has taken the first steps and shared these with all of us as a thank you for the love and support.”

The tweet posted at 12:33 p.m. today has already received 19.6 thousand retweets, 4,100 quote tweets, and 141.7 thousand likes.

How it Started

West has famously battled with homelessness and substance abuse over the years, while also dealing with internal issues, such as bipolar disorder. Last month, numerous people posted on social media about seeing West ask for help on the streets in Dallas.

The video which has started a wave of concern in the basketball community, West is seen wearing white sweater, baggy gray pants, as well as slip-on loafers that were covered in dirt. In a few photos he also holds a cardboard sign, while standing in the rain. 

Among the concerned, was the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban. He is seen on video picking up the former player at a gas station on Monday, while in his blue Tesla Model S, wearing a mask.

Cuban had allegedly been trying to contact West for several days. When Cuban finally got in contact with the the 37-year-old, the two agreed to meet up at a gas station. 

“I can just confirm that I found him and helped him,” Cuban told The Washington Post in an email Monday evening. “The rest is up to Delonte and his family to tell.” 

According to TMZ, Cuban has also offered to pay for his treatment at a drug rehabilitation facility.
