Fans of the McRib everywhere are celebrating its return. McDonald’s made the barbecue sandwich available nation-wide for the first time in eight years.

The sandwich officially returned to McDonald’s menu on Dec. 2. And now fans can’t get enough. The restaurant chain’s Vice President of Menu Innovation Linda VanGosen also commented on the sandwich’s return.

“The McRib has been a beloved menu item at McDonald’s since its inception nearly 40 years ago,” she in a statement to Business Insider. “There’s nothing quite like the taste of the McRib. To our customers, it’s become more than a delicious, saucy moment… it’s a season, and it’s taking the internet by storm. That’s why this year, we’re proud to serve the McRib nationwide for everyone to enjoy.”

Fans Rejoiced Over the McDonald’s McRib on Twitter

Several fans of the sandwich took to social media to celebrate the sandwich’s return. Several users posted GIFs from popular TV shows like “Family Guy” for instance to channel their excitement.

One user also commented, “If you got a free McRib with every vaccination, America would have this thing wrapped up by Christmas.”

Meanwhile, another user reflected on working at McDonald’s themselves while in high school.

Not everyone is a fan though. For instance, one user compared the sandwich to a Banquet style microwaveable meal.
