Giving birth is understandably scary for moms across the world. However, one couple recently saw the birth of their 14-pound-one-ounce newborn boy and I cannot begin to imagine the discomfort. The newborn boy earned the name Finnley Patonai. He came into this world big enough to don six-to-nine-month clothing, something most infants wouldn’t encounter for at least the first several months of their life.
Nevertheless, the newborn’s parents, Cary and Tim Potanai seem to be managing well. They’ve since returned home after Finnley’s eight-day NICU stay. Cary Potanai stated, “As soon as they pulled him out, they’re like, ‘oh my gosh, that’s huge!”
Fortunately, doctors had predicted the baby‘s large size, estimating Finnley would weigh around 13 and a half pounds. Doctors at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, AZ delivered the newborn by c-section. Further, the doctor who delivered Finnley said he was the biggest baby they’d delivered in an almost thirty-year career.
In a statement to Fox News, Cary Patonai said, “He was so big plus I had almost double the amniotic fluid, so to say I had a big baby belly and that I was absolutely completely uncomfortable isn’t enough.” No doubt, as the University of Michigan Health states an average baby weighs about seven pounds and eight ounces. However, “normal” newborns range between 5.8 and 10 pounds.
Nevertheless, Patonai said, “I would do it all over again if I had to, to get this blessing.”
‘NCIS’ Alum Emily Wickersham to Welcome Newborn Boy
As the Patonais navigate life with their latest addition, one famous “NCIS” alum prepares to birth her own little bundle of joy.
Season 19 of “NCIS” has been utter turmoil and transformation following the departure of “NCIS” alum Emily Wickersham at the end of season 18. More recently, show patriarch Mark Harmon concluded his career on “NCIS” during the fourth episode of season 19 last week.
Additionally, longtime “NCIS” fans hope to see Agent Gibbs actor Mark Harmon eventually return in potential later seasons. However, Emily Wickersham doesn’t seem to be currently interested in returning to the “NCIS” set. In July, the actress made the announcement she too was expecting the birth of a newborn baby boy. The announcement came as she shared a bikini-clad, poolside pic.
However, following her announcement (and the Instagram post capturing her sweet baby bump), she hasn’t shared much else about her pregnancy with the public. Nevertheless, she did reveal in the post that she was to soon be a mama to a newborn boy. If she underwent the traditional sequence of appointments for expecting mothers, her knowledge of the baby’s gender indicates Wickersham had been at least 20 weeks pregnant.
Further, if we deduce her to just be at 20 weeks in July, we can roughly estimate her due date to be some time in the middle of December. However, all kinds of factors could throw off the estimate. So, until Wickersham reveals more about her bouncing baby boy, we continue to wait and wonder.
