Morgan Wallen Announces First Concert Since 2020 To Benefit Victims of Tennessee Flooding

by Jonathan Howard

After almost a year removed from touring, Morgan Wallen has announced his first show back later this month. It will also be for a good cause. There has been a lot of time since the controversies that Wallen got himself involved in. Now, it appears he is ready to move on and move forward in a big way. As a Tennesseean himself, this is going to be a special show personally for him.

In late August, Middle Tennessee was hit hard with floodwaters. It impacted large swaths of the community and left multiple people dead and tons of damage to homes and infrastructure. With this show, Wallen won’t just be returning to the stage after a long hiatus. This will help raise money for those impacted by the flooding. Days later and many are still attempting to rebuild.

“I have been touched and heartbroken by the stories I’ve heard from the recent flooding and it’s [sic] impact in Middle Tennessee. Wanted to do my part to help. Proud that this is my first official show in such a long time. Hope you guys can make it on such short notice.” The post also came with a flyer for the concert.

Morgan Wallen will be playing an acoustic set according to the flyer. “Acoustic Benefit Concert. In support of the food survivors of Humphreys County.” There will be a great group will be joining him for rounds 1 and 2 of the benefit.

Morgan Wallen and Friends Benefit Concert

So, Morgan Wallen is bringing his friends to the show. The Marathon Music Works venue in Nashville, Tennessee will host the event. There have been a number of great shows that have come through the venue, and it will be a great place to host the benefit concert. During round 1 of the show, there will be a number of acts joining Wallen. That includes Lainey Wilson, Josh Thompson, Ernest, Ben Burgess, Jared Mullins, and Lathan Warlick. However, round 2 is more star-studded.

In the second round of the show, there will be three stars joining Wallen for the show. Dierks Bentley, HARDY, and Cole Swindell will be playing. Currently, Dierks Bentley and HARDY have one of the hottest songs in country music with Beers on Me. Along with Breland, the trio has made the song one of the best songs of the summer. Perhaps there will be an acoustic rendition of the song on September 8th. There is so much that can be done at a show with this many stars.

While it is a bit of late notice, Morgan Wallen hopes to get the crowd out for the show. There are a lot of people that could use some relief right now and this is a step in the right direction.
