Photos: Gov. Kristi Noem Celebrates ‘Opening Day of the Full Pheasant Hunting Season’

You don’t have to tell South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem when the full pheasant hunting season starts in South Dakota. In fact, she’s probably beating you to the punch.

Noem posted a tweet on Saturday featuring photos from her outing on the season’s opening day.

“Opening day of the full pheasant hunting season!” the post reads. “Where are you hunting?”

The South Dakota full pheasant season runs from October 17, 2020 to January 21, 2021.

Previous Hunting Photo, Backlash Over COVID-19

This isn’t the first time that Noem has posted herself hunting this fall. Further, back in September, she posted a photo of her shooting a pheasant while addressing COVID-19.

“This is how we do social distancing in South Dakota,” the post reads.

In the video, Noem talks in between shooting a pheasant.

“This is how we do social distancing in our state… Less COVID, more hunting. That’s the plan for the future.”

Noem received backlash both from her state natives as well as from people around the country. During that week prior to the post, South Dakota totaled 2,849 positive cases over seven days.

“What she meant to say is,” one critic said. “To social distance we fire multiple shots at defenseless animals try to get away from other animals and then making light of their deaths. We are superior because we don’t follow the recommendations of scientists”

But on the other side of the coin, Noem had many supporting the way she’s approached the COVID-19 pandemic.

We aren’t going to give up OUR rights/freedoms and follow ANYONE for ANYONE!

We WILL stand for OUR GOD, OUR Country, OUR State, and OUR Families!
