Melania Trump made a noteworthy fashion choice at the presidential debate last night that has the Internet buzzing.

Among a pack of Trumps, Melania was the only one wearing a mask.

The event was held at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine implemented a mask mandate for the state on July 23, Glamour reported.

The First Lady also wore a tailored black suit to the debate. It cost $3,340 and came from Dolce & Gabbana, according to the Daily Mail. She paired that with $695 Christian Louboutin heels and a white collared shirt.

Ivanka and Tiffany Trump also appeared at the debate, as did Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle and Eric Trump’s wife Lara. None of the ensemble wore masks except Melania.

And that definitely didn’t escape notice. CNN Correspondent Kate Bennett tweeted, “Of the Trump family in attendance, @FLOTUS the only one to keep mask on throughout.”

The Week reported that it was a requirement of the event that attendees wear masks throughout the debate. Audience members had to have an invitation, a mask and a wristband signifying they had tested negative for Covid-19.

Melania has previously issued public statements encouraging people to wear masks. “Even in the summer months, please remember to wear face coverings & practice social distancing. The more precaution we take now can mean a healthier & safer country in the Fall,” she tweeted this summer.

The Johns Hopkins University Covid-19 map currently shows a higher concentration of coronavirus cases around Columbus, Ohio. There are a higher concentration of deaths around Cincinnati. Case Western is located in Cleveland.
