Florida Private Investigator Bill Warner says it is “not likely” that Brian Laundrie “just sat there and waited to die” in Carlton Reserve.

FBI Tampa confirms Wednesday evening that human remains were found in Carlton Reserve. And one local private investigator believes the search is now over.

“It’s basically over,” Florida P.I. Bill Warner tells The Sun. “Most likely he is dead in the reserve,” Warner continues.

Specifically, the P.I. believes that Brian Laundrie “possibly killed himself,” adding it is “not likely he just sat there and waited to die.”

In addition, Warner believes the findings “vindicate” both Brian Laundrie’s parents and sister. “They did not know where he was, had no contact with him… It was all Brian’s plan that he kept to himself,” Warner states.

These statements are, however, pure conjecture. Let’s look at the facts.

October 20: ‘Partial Human Remains’ Found in Carlton Reserve Search for Brian Laundrie

On October 20, 2021, both a notebook and backpack belonging to Brian Laundrie would surface in the Carlton Reserve. The family’s attorney, Steven Bertolino, says his parents, Chris and Roberta Laundrie, were present at the scene where these items came to light.

“Chris and Roberta Laundrie were at the reserve earlier today when human remains and some of Brian’s possessions were located in an area where they had initially advised law enforcement that Brian may be,” Bertolino said in a statement Wednesday. “Chris and Roberta will wait for the forensic identification of the human remains before making any additional comments.”

Shortly after, this discovery would lead FBI agents to the sight of “partial human remains.” They have not been identified.

“Since the preserve has been closed to the public… Chris has not been able to look for Brian in the only place Chris and Roberta believe Brian may be,” Bertolino would add.

FBI Tampa would then give a press conference later into Wednesday. Within, they confirm that the body would have been underwater during their multi-million-dollar search for Brian Laundrie the weeks before.

During the press conference, Special Agent Michael McPherson told the public that investigators found “what appears to be human remains, along with personal items… Such as a backpack and notebook belonging to Brian Laundrie.”

Carlton Reserve would close to the public throughout the original search. It would then reopen, only to close again for the current FBI investigation at the site of the remains.

“I know you have a lot of questions but we don’t have all the answers yet,” McPherson would add.

Sarasota County Medical Examiner Now on the Scene

In addition, CNN reports the Sarasota County Medical Examiner is currently on the scene. Brian Laundrie’s belonging and the human remains will remain under investigation for some time.

Also present is The Pasco County Sheriff’s office with a cadaver dog. If any further human remains are present, the canine unit will be the authorities’ best chance at finding them.
