South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem Selling ‘Less COVID, More Hunting’ Shirts After Viral Video

Governor Kristi Noem is capitalizing on her controversial “Less COVID, More Hunting” viral video tweet with a batch of interesting South Dakota-themed shirts.

In America, it’s free game to put just about anything on a t-shirt. As a result, Gov. Kristi Noem is taking advantage of this. Her latest campaign fundraiser? “Less COVID, More Hunting” shirts.

In a bid to raise money for her reelection(s), Noem isn’t shying away from questionable decisions. The Republican Governor’s campaign website is chock-full of the shirts, and they’re sure to stir up further ire.

Noem’s slogan features prominently on the shirts amidst an outline of the state she represents, South Dakota. In the middle, the name of the virus that’s killed over 216,000 Americans is capitalized.

Her campaign has the shirts available in both orange and brown “for hunters.” Each long-sleeve shirt runs $35.00. Or, if you’d prefer a more stylish baby blue COVID pandemic shirt, you can net one of those for the same price.

Kristi Noem sticks by her Less COVID, More Hunting slogan

The phrase originates with a video Noem’s official campaign account shot in September. Posting it the 23rd of that month, the video came to a staggering 6.5 million views and is still active on Twitter. Within, Noem is seen pheasant hunting, before she declares her now infamous “one-liner”:

South Dakota, among many things, is known for said pheasant hunting. According to TravelSouthDakota.com, 2019 alone saw over 800,000 pheasants harvested for the season.

Whether you agree with Kristi Noem’s policies or use of COVID for potential profit, the Governor herself is all-aboard. She’s even sharing the ESPN article that touts her questionable shirt decision with the photo of a pheasant:

Noem, however, is no stranger to controversy during the pandemic. She’s recently spoken out about the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, claiming the fallout from the event is “actually not factual whatsoever.”
