One of the stars for the United States during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics has been swimmer Katie Ledecky. And, part of her celebration includes her sharing a victory photo on social media.

The 24-year-old will return to her country with a lot of Olympic hardware around her neck. She has won two gold medals and two silver medals during these Summer Games. Her gold medals came in the 1500-meter freestyle and in the 800-meter freestyle. Her two silver medals came in the 400-meter freestyle and in the 4×200 freestyle relay.

On Saturday, July 31, Ledecky showed off her golden hardware on Instagram. The image shows her standing in Tokyo with the Olympic rings behind her. She is displaying her 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medals and smiling with joy. And, who can blame her for that?

Along with the photo, Katie Ledecky used the caption to thank those who have helped make her Olympic dreams come true.

“Thank you, Tokyo, and thank YOU ALL for the tremendous support this week and over the years to get to this point,” the decorated Olympian said. “I appreciate all my family members, coaches, teammates, friends, classmates, teachers, and so many others who have been a part of this journey.”

Her medals aren’t the only things Katie Ledecky said she will be taking back home after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics come to an end.

“2 Golds, 2 Silvers, and countless memories coming back to the States!!! @[email protected],” the swimmer shared. Unsurprisingly, her post is very popular. It had received more than 113,000 likes in the first hours after she shared it.

Victory During 2020 Tokyo Olympics Gave Katie Ledecky a Three-Peat

Impressively, Katie Ledecky’s victory in the 800-meter freestyle gave her a three-peat.

She won the event at both the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Olympics. She was only 15 years old when she won gold in London.

According to the Team USA website, Ledecky is the owner of seven gold medals and three silver medals. The one gold in 2012 is the only medal she won in those games. Four years later in Rio, she added four gold medals to her collection. In addition to the 800-meter freestyle, she won the 200-meter freestyle, the 400-meter freestyle, and was part of the winning 4×200 meter freestyle relay team. She also took Silver in the 4×100-meter freestyle.

Her two gold and two silver medals from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics bring her career medal total to 10.

Thanks to her many stellar Olympic performances over the years, Ledecky is being considered by some to be one of the greatest swimmers of all time. Some are even listing her in the same category alongside the legendary American swimmer Michael Phelps.

They have a good case to make. And at the young age of 24 years old, Katie Ledecky should have many more chances to win more medals in future Olympic Games.
