Simone Biles is in a happy mood in her latest Instagram pic. The Team USA gymnast recently made headlines for withdrawing from her team competition during the Tokyo Olympics. Afterward, the team went on to secure a silver medal in the event. And Biles wanted to celebrate with her teammates.

On Instagram, Biles posted an image of herself and her teammate Jordan Chiles, celebrating with their silver medals. Biles called Chiles her best friend among other things.

Biles wrote, “that’s my bestfriend, she a real bad b.”

Simone Biles’s decision to withdraw from the Olympics event has turned the conversation to mental health. She said she was under a lot of pressure to compete in the Olympics and began to crack under the strain.

“Physically, I feel good, I’m in shape. Emotionally, that kind of varies on the time and moment. Coming here to the Olympics and being the head star isn’t an easy feat, so we’re just trying to take it one day at a time and we’ll see,” Biles told Today.

It’s currently unknown if Biles plans to make a return in the Olympics. She said that she’s taking everything one day at a time. As a gymnast, Biles qualified for the Olympics finals where she would compete for gold. The gymnast also discussed breaking the news to her Olympics teammates.

“They were like crying, and I was like, ‘You guys need to relax, you’re going to be fine without me. Go out there, kick some butt just like you’ve done in training, and just lay it out on the floor and see what happens,’” Biles said.

As one of the faces of Team USA, Simone Biles opened up about the pressure she felt with the whole world watching. It was a lot for her to take as a result. For the most part, Biles wowed during the qualifying round but also ended up making a few uncharacteristic mistakes as well.

“It wasn’t an easy day or my best, but I got through it. I truly do feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders at times,” she wrote.

Biles also discussed going to therapy and how it’s helped her. It’s given her a safe space to voice her insecurities and problems.

“One of the very first sessions, I didn’t talk at all. I just wouldn’t say anything. I was like, ‘I’m not crazy…don’t need to be here’…thought I could figure it out on my own, but that’s sometimes not the case. And that’s not something you should feel guilty or ashamed of. Once I got over that fact, I actually enjoyed it and looked forward to going to therapy. It’s a safe space,” Biles said to Glamour recently.
