Aaron Rodgers to Get Championship Ring After Milwaukee Bucks Win NBA Finals: Here’s Why

by Thad Mitchell

National Football League superstar Aaron Rodgers came up just a game short of advancing to another Super Bowl with his team.

While he didn’t win an NFL championship, he will be getting a championship ring in another sport — basketball. Aaron Rodgers has a minority stake in another Wisconsin-based professional sports team that now has a championship. The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Phoenix Suns last night in game six to become the 2021 NBA championship. It is the first championship win for the Bucks in 50 years and is easy to tell that Rodgers is excited. As a minority owner of the team, he will most definitely have a new championship ring to cherish. Aaron Rodgers sent out several social media messages during the big win, congratulating the team on their success.

“Incredible job by Wes and Mark, Peter,” Aaron Rodgers wrote late Tuesday evening after the win. Jon Horst our general manager made some incredible moves and our stars played like stars. Can’t stop 34.”

The Bucks capped a magical season by defeating the Suns in the best of seven series that only made to six games. While Aaron Rodgers is still the most loved professional athlete in Wisconsin, he definitely has some competition on his hands. At only 26 years of age, Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is becoming one of the NBA’s brightest stars. He scored 50 points in Tuesday’s series-clinching win and was named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player. Better known by his nickname, “The Greek Freak,” Giannis Antetokounmpo asserted his dominance throughout the entire series. If he isn’t already, the Greek Freak is well on his way to becoming one of the league’s most marketable players.

Aaron Rodgers is Part Owner of the Milwaukee Bucks

Aaron Rodgers invested in the Milwaukee Bucks in 2018. He is a minority owner along with fellows owners Marc Lasry, Wes Edens and Jamie Dinan and Mike Fascitelli. He didn’t attend last night’s finale but is clearly excited to have another championship team in Wisconsin.

While he is no doubt going to be proud of his NBA championship ring, Aaron Rodgers has his sights set on obtaining another Super Bowl Ring. Rodgers led his Green Bay Packers team to a Super Bowl sin in 2010 and is one of the league’s top quarterbacks. His 2020 NFL season performance earned him the league’s Most Valuable Player award. Despite his personal performance, the Packers came up short in their bid for a championship. Rodgers and his team were defeated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship game. Brady and the Bucs would go on to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 55 to claim the championship trophy.

There is also still the question of just where Aaron Rodgers will be playing in 2021. Reports suggest that he isn’t happy with his current situation in Green Bay and he could be on the move.
