Aaron Rodgers Reportedly Has Concerns About Introducing Fiancée Shailene Woodley to His Family

Aaron Rodgers and actress Shailene Woodley went public last month with the news of their engagement. No one knew the two were dating, much less making plans for a wedding.

Now comes news of a potential problem. Rodgers, the long-time Green Bay Packers quarterback, doesn’t want to introduce his fiancee to his family. Aaron Rodgers has a strained relationship with them.

OK! Magazine reported this news, quoting an unnamed source close to Rodgers.

“It’s no secret that Aaron’s been estranged from (his family) for years,” the source told Ok. “The last thing he wants is for Shailene to get caught up in the drama. She wants Aaron to clear the air with his folks, but he’s not ready to do that, and he doesn’t want to bring Shailene into a toxic environment.”

Not much is known as to why Rodgers is estranged from his family. Jordan, Aaron’s brother, mentioned it when he was on season 12 of the Bachelorette. He won the show and is engaged to JoJo Fletcher. During interviews, for the show, Jordan Rodgers said of his brother:

“It pains both of us like, not to have that relationship [with Aaron] – we miss our brother. I trust that God brings things full circle and that everything would just get back to us being a family.”

Aaron Rodgers Dated Several High-Profile Women

Aaron Rodgers got engaged to Woodley in early February. He’s dated several high-profile women, including actress Olivia Munn and race car driver Danica Patrick.

Most recently, Woodley earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her work in the HBO series Big Little Lies.

She said she and Rodgers have been engaged for a while. This was during an interview last month on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

“Yes, we are engaged,” Woodley said in the interview with Fallon. “But for us, it’s not new news, you know, so it’s kind of funny. Everyone right now is freaking out over it and we’re like, ‘Yeah, we’ve been engaged for a while.’”

Woodley filled in some of the details about her relationship with Aaron Rodgers. They met through mutual friends last summer. The source speaking to OK! said that Rodgers made the first move, contacting those friends to see if he could meet Woodley.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, their first few dates were via Zoom.

Woodley has never seen a football game. And after she met Aaron Rodgers, pandemic restriction precluded her from watching him play.

She thinks of her fiancee another way. And hint, it’s not the MVP of the NFL.

“I know him as like the nerd who wants to host Jeopardy!,” Woodley told Fallon. “He just happens to be very good at sports.”

Plus, Woodley’s dog likes him.

“When I first met (Aaron Rodgers), my dog like pulled me aside and was like, ‘If you don’t date this dude, I will disown you as my mother. Because the three feet that I run with you when you throw a ball is nothing compared to the marathon that I run with this man.’ ”
