Cleveland Browns starting quarterback Baker Mayfield is well aware that he has his fair share of critics.

One of the quarterback’s biggest doubters is FS1’s “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” host Collin Cowherd. Never one to shy away from a controversial hot take, Cowherd has been critical of Mayfield since the day he came into the league.

Mayfield was made the first overall pick in the 2018 National Football League draft by the Cleveland Browns. Cowherd was critical of the pick and has never backed off of that stance through Mayfield’s three years in the league.

The former Oklahoma Sooner and Heisman Trophy winner has had plenty of up and down moments thus far in his career. Mayfield, along with his Browns’ teammates, seems to have things heading in the right direction now. The team made the NFL playoff this season for the first time in 18 years. They took an 11-5 record and third place AFC North finish.

The Browns weren’t satisfied with simply making the playoffs either. In what was considered to be a big upset, the Browns steamrolled the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round to the tune of 48-37.

Before the game was played, Cowherd seemingly predicts a Browns loss based on the direction of Mayfield’s hat.

“Baker Mayfield wore his hat backwards,” the social media post states. “Bad news for the Browns’ quarterback.”

Cowherd chimes in with a playoff prediction of his own.

“That just says playoff loss, doesn’t it,” he says.

Baker Mayfield Gets Last Laugh With Hat Flip

Meeting with the media after the big win, It is Mayfield who gets the last laugh. The quarterback begins the media session with his hat facing forward. He then pulls one of the best “troll” jobs ever seen by flipping his hat around.

“Browns Baker Mayfield with a phenomenal troll job on Colin Cowherd, turning his hat backward after playoff win,” the tweet explains.
