The son of boxing legend Chris Eubank has reportedly died. Representatives of Chris Eubank say that his son, Sebastian, died just days before he turned 30 years old.

Eubank, a legendary British middleweight boxer, said that he and his family were “devastated” to hear the news of his son’s passing. He died in Dubai where he was living at the time, leaving behind his wife Salma and his one-month-old son Raheem. According to reports, Sebastian was found dead on a beach, after apparently drowning.

Sebastian was the third-eldest of Chris Eubank’s five children. His mother, Karron Meadows, married Chris Eubank in 1990 before getting a divorce in 2005. They share four kids together, one of them being the late Sebastian.

Since the tragic news broke, tributes have been pouring in for Sebastian Eubank. His father, the former two-weight world champion, shared a statement on Friday.

“Never did I ever imagine I would write these words or experience the feeling I now have at the loss of my son,” Eubank wrote. “My family and I are devastated to hear of the death of Sebastian just days before what would have been his 30th birthday.”

Chris Eubank Jr., the older brother of Sebastian Eubank, also tweeted a tribute to his little brother on Friday afternoon.

“Rest easy little brother, I love you and you will be missed always,” Eubank Jr. wrote.

His mother Karron Meadows added: “Our whole family is grieving at the huge loss of our son and brother, Sebastian. Please respect our grief and privacy while we try to comprehend our loss.”

Sebastian Eubank Was Following in His Father’s Boxing Footsteps

Boxing fans know just how big of a star Chris Eubank was in the 1980s and 1990s. Considered of one the best British boxers of all time, Eubank held the WBO middleweight and super-middleweight belts in the early and mid-1990s.

And prior to his death, 29-year-old Sebastian was following in his father’s footsteps as a professional boxer. He grew up in Hove on the south coast of England before getting into boxing. Eventually, however, he made his way into the ring — first as an amateur and then as a professional. He even made his MMA debut earlier this year.

The third-born Eubank moved to Dubai in his mid-twenties. He was scheduled to fight at the O2 Arena on the undercard of his brother Chris Jr.’s win over James DeGale in 2019. However, that his bout was canceled due to the event overrunning.

Other boxing stars took to social media to pay their respects as well. One of them to do so was former WBA super-middleweight champion George Groves.

“Seb was a great guy, I remember sparring him many years ago in London. My thoughts are with the Eubank family,” Groves posted.
