Brittany Matthews is having fun during her pregnancy, showing off her baby bump in new photos that she posted on Instagram.
Matthews, who is the fiancee of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, is also a fitness expert. She’s wearing workout clothes that, well, work well with her baby bump for her fans and followers to see.
She has been attending Chiefs’ playoff games this season and will be in attendance this Sunday as the Super Bowl-champion Chiefs face the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game.
Take a look, though, as Matthews shows off in these pictures.
One might think being pregnant would slow down Matthews just a bit. Nope, she’s still active (right now) and showing people how to do exercises from her own gym.
She has made quite the name for herself in the fitness world, keeping herself in shape while also helping others do so through her website, Brittany Lynne Fitness.
Brittany Matthews, Patrick Mahomes: A True Love Story
Matthews and Mahomes have been together for a long time, since their high school days in Whitehouse, Texas. Mahomes went on to star as quarterback for the Texas Tech Red Raiders before finding fame and fortune in the NFL.
Mahomes asked Matthews to marry him in a rather auspicious place: a football stadium.
What Mahomes had planned for the engagement was rather sneaky and cool at the same time. See, the Chiefs received their Super Bowl rings back in September at Arrowhead Stadium, home field for Kansas City. Mahomes knew the Super Bowl ring ceremony was going to happen, so he thought it would be pretty great to bring an engagement ring to it as well.
After he received his Super Bowl ring, Mahomes happened to find Matthews in the stadium and present her with a ring, too. She said yes and they are now planning for their wedding as well as for their first child.
Mahomes signed a $500 million contract extension in July 2020 with Kansas City, so he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. He’s been around major-league sports for a long time as Pat Mahomes, his father, was a major-league pitcher for nine seasons. Pat Mahomes was a pitcher for the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Mahomes Deals With COVID-19 During Pregnancy
Now this NFL season has been like no other because of so many teams being affected by COVID-19 issues. The Chiefs themselves had a COVID-19 outbreak, which forced Patrick Mahomes to sleep in separate rooms from Brittany Matthews. He didn’t want anything to affect Matthews’ pregnancy, so he found another spot to rest in their residence.
Back in October, Kansas City practice squad quarterback Jordan Ta’amu tested positive. Mahomes and Ta’amu spend some time together in film rooms, so the distance between both of them caused Mahomes to have concern for himself.
Therefore, the safety of both Matthews and his child were tantamount on Mahomes’ mind.
He said, “I just try to do my part just to kind of keep myself away from her and social distance whenever stuff like this arises.”
Matthews, though, looks like she’s going to keep staying active while her baby bump continues to grow.
