A man and his dog, a bond unbreakable. This was a wild race. With the postponement yesterday to today, officials were determined to have this race. They did. However, the rain did not play nice. One stage went by without much issue, the second stage did not.

There was a sprinkle that eventually turned into a downpour at the Super Speedway. When it comes to races like that, drivers have to get smart. It is on their team to let them know what the strategy needs to be. Wallace got himself in position, and before things got real bad, moved into the first position.

After almost an hour delay, the race was called and Bubba Wallace was declared the winner. This is a big moment for the No.23 driver. This marks his first Cup Series win, first win at Talladega, he also becomes just the second Black driver to win a race in NASCAR’s top series.

Now, show that dog some love.

Hamlin has already solidified his spot in the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. When interviewers asked Wallace about what he thinks about the historical implications of his win, the driver was emotional.
