Bubba Wallace Teases Sunday’s Daytona 500 with Rap Video

Bubba Wallace is firing up his fans for the big race on Sunday.

The race car driver shared a video of rapper Tyla Yaweh calling him out in his latest collaboration that features NASCAR and one of the biggest races of the season.

“This Sunday. #DAYTONA500 @TylaYaweh,” Wallace writes.

Tyla Yaweh’s remixed “All the Smoke” video features several NASCAR drivers. He scored the coveted gig as NASCAR hype man with his recent rhymes. Watch the one-minute long version here.

“Fast car, I want all the smoke / Yeah (yeah), yeah, yeah, yeah, all the smoke / Porsche 911, can’t see me no more (more) / I be up high, but I want some more,” are some of the lyrics from the song.

Tyla Yaweh spits rhymes about Bubba Wallace’s “new candy paint,” which is an obvious nod to his new paint scheme with his brand new team for the 2021 season. Wallace is driving for a Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin, creating 23XI team. He’ll drive the No. 23 car. The No. 23 is a nod to Jordan’s time with the Chicago Bulls. Wallace’s sponsors this year include Door Dash, Columbia Sportswear, Dr. Pepper, McDonald’s, and Root Insurance.

The 2021 Cup Series kicked off with the Busch Clash at DAYTONA on Feb. 9. However, Wallace did not compete in the exhibition race. Only 2020 Busch Pole Award winners, past Busch Clash winners, past Daytona 500 winners who competed full-time in 2020, past Daytona 500 pole sitters who competed full-time in 2020, 2020 Cup Series playoff drivers, 2020 Cup Series race winners, and 2020 Cup Series stage winners were eligible to compete.

Bubba Wallace is Focused on 2021 Season

The No. 23 stock car driver has his sights set on performing well this season, and is ready to “find peace in chaos.” Ahead of Sunday’s race, Wallace posted a video to Twitter depicting that he’s ready to buckle down.

Furthermore, the 27-year-old driver is set to drive a full race for 23XI Racing for the first time at the Daytona 500. The new video seemingly features Wallace during practice sessions on Wednesday. Wallace reportedly posted the fastest time among the drivers, clocking in at 45.057 seconds and 199.747 miles per hour.

For Bubba Wallace, who is yet to win a Cup Series race in his career, getting off the mark at the Daytona 500 would be a dream scenario. However, turning a dream into a reality will be a mighty challenge for the Mobile, Alabama native.

This year, the schedule takes the drivers and race teams to three new tracks. What’s more, NASCAR is expanding to six road courses and placing a dirt-track race on the calendar for the first time in more than 50 years.
