Bubba Wallace Trolls Joey Logano After Stage-Ending Crash at Daytona

β€’

Popular NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace is usually always active on social media. That was the case yet again on Saturday evening as he decided to troll fellow racer Joey Logano and his fans.

Wallace took to Twitter to respond to a crash that happened earlier today during the first stage of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Daytona. A.J. Allmendinger and Austin Cindric were racing for the lead when they crashed in the final turn of the race.

Cindric competes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He is the driver of the No. 22 Ford Mustang for Team Penske. He also competes part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 33 Mustang for Penske.

Meanwhile, after seeing the crash for himself, Wallace decides to take a shot at Logano. He takes to Twitter to joke “it is usually the 22 blocking at Daytona.” Logano, who is also nicknamed “Sliced Bread,” is the driver of the No. 22 Ford Mustang GT for Team Penske. The 30-year-old is also the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Champion.

“Crazy… What’s real crazy is it’s usually the 22 blocking at Daytona… πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚” Wallace wrote on Twitter. “Chill chill just kidding Logano fans.”

Bubba Wallace at Daytona 500

This year at Daytona was a crazy one, that’s for sure. And now that wild 2021 Daytona 500 is over, 23XI has officially completed its first race as a team.

The star driver for the Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin-led team is, of course, Bubba Wallace. After a fiery crash on the final lap of the race, Wallace was able to finish in 17th place. Michael McDowell was ultimately wound up winning the big event, but it wasn’t without obstacles. The long race day was filled with both weather delays and multiple wrecks.

Wallace joined up with Michael Jordan’s new racing team back in October of last year. It was just shortly after that 23XI announced that Wallace would be driving the red No. 23 car.

The forming of the team has been groundbreaking in many ways for the NASCAR sport as a whole. With it, Michael Jordan became the first black majority owner of a NASCAR racing team. In addition, Wallace became the first black driver to lead a lap at the Daytona 500.

Nonetheless, Bubba Wallace has definitely seen his fair share of controversy as a prominent race car driver. He has been continually pushing NASCAR for diversity and to make other positive changes for the sport.
