Cincinnati Bengals Safety Labels JuJu Smith-Schuster as ‘Young Minded,’ Calls Dancing on Logos Disrespectful

Cincinnati Bengals safety Vonn Bell recently called Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster “young-minded” and disrespectful.”

Smith-Schuster has been a target of Bengals fans for plenty of reasons over the last few years. However, his habitual pre-game dances on the opponent’s logo for the sake of social media have made him a target for not only fans but for opposing players as well.

Those who aren’t familiar with the Steelers wide receiver probably are not aware that he has a pre-game ritual of posting videos of himself dancing at midfield before games. Smith-Schuster takes part in his dances regardless of where that field is, whether it’s at Heinz Field or an opposing team’s home field.

Of course, everyone has their own opinion about Smith-Schuster’s pregame TikTok dances on the opposing team’s logo. Most Steelers fans seem to be playing it down. Meanwhile, those outside the organization are less understanding of Smith-Schuster’s antics.

The Steelers are currently preparing for a road game right now, against their division rival Cincinnati Bengals. And with Bell’s comments leading up to the game, we now have at least our third incident of an opposing player taking issue with what JuJu Smith-Schuster is doing.

The Bengals safety shared his thoughts on Smith-Schuster’s dancing before the Bengals host the Steelers on Monday night.

“He’s still young minded. He loves the game. He loves going out there playing,” Bell said. “It’s kind of disrespectful at the end of the day. But they’re on top right now so you can’t really say nothing right now. We just gotta go out there, between the lines, go out there and hit him and let him know where he stands.”

JuJu Smith-Schuster gave Bills ‘Extra Fire’ with Logo Dance

Heading into the matchup of two of the AFC’s best teams, the Steelers wide receiver decided to keep his tradition going. Juju Smith-Schuster paid a visit to the Bills logo at center field during pre-game warm-ups for the prime time game. He wasn’t shy about it either.

After the game, Bills safety Jordan Poyer was among a couple of Buffalo players that took notice of what the Steelers wideout was doing.

“Seeing them dance on our logo pregame, that turned you up a little bit,” Poyer said via video conference after the game. “It kind of gives you a little second itch to come out and play with some extra fire.”

Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes didn’t know about the pregame festivities. He said after the game that the Buffalo defensive backs kept it to themselves.

“I guess they felt like they were going to handle it on the back end themselves, and I guess they did that,” Hughes said.

The Bills (10-3) defense was definitely playing with a little extra fire. They held the Steelers to only one touchdown, in addition to intercepting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger twice. They also held the opponent’s rushing attack to under 100 yards for the fourth time in their last five games.
