It’s Saturday morning, and that means it’s time to gear up for some college football! Courtesy of College GameDay, of course.
The ESPN pre-game show kicked off this morning in Athens, Georgia, to a screaming crowd of Georgia fans. The No. 2 Dawgs take on the No. 8 Arkansas Razorbacks at noon, leaving plenty of time for fans to get hyped up for the game.
Earlier this morning, College GameDay announced their guest picker in an epic montage video on Twitter. The video shows several professional golfers with different college allegiances, leaving everyone to wonder which person it will be. Eventually, the video ended on the show’s guest picker.
“And today’s College GameDay guest picker in Athens is …” the show captioned the post. Drum roll, please!
It’s Harris English! The pro-golfer recently competed in the Ryder Cup for Team USA, helping bring the team to victory against Europe. English also graduated from UGA back in 2011, so he’s a huge Dawgs fan. Guess we know who he’s picking for the Georiga vs. Arkansas game.
English likely won’t be alone. College GameDay host Lee Corso also picked UGA for the Clemson game on opening weekend too. Corso already got the fans in Athens riled up this morning and showed his love for the Dawgs in this hilarious video.
You can watch Corso hold up the Arkansas and Georgia helmets for the fans in the Tweet below. The crowd’s pretty vocal in its boos for the Razorbacks and cheers for the Dawgs. But the best part is hands down when Corso throws the Arkansas helmet on the ground with the most disgusted look on his face. A Dawg through and through.
College GameDay Host Posts Hilarious Behind-The-Scenes Video of Lee Corso
College GameDay host Lee Corso is universally beloved by fans of all universities. His passionate game talk and banter with other hosts make him super entertaining to watch. And now, fellow co-host Kirk Herbstreit’s given us a sneak peek of Corso’s college football gameday routine before the pre-show starts.
“This is how the [GOAT] gets ready for a HUGE day of @CollegeGameDay!!” Herbstreit tweeted, along with the video. “See you at 9am ET!!!!”
In the video, we see Corso talking to himself in an empty room. “He’s practicing,” Herbstreit whispers. The College GameDay host eventually goes in to talk to Corso, asking him rapid-fired questions to see if he’s really prepared for the show to start. Based on Corso’s sure answers, we’re positive he knows all he needs to know for today’s match-ups.
