On Sunday afternoon, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Dez Bryant praised his fellow teammate and receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown.
Following a tough playoff loss on Saturday to the Buffalo Bills, Bryant shared some thoughts about the Ravens’ young receiver. Bryant shared a short clip of Brown speaking about the loss, and Baltimore’s bright future. The former Pro Bowl receiver said he’s proud of Brown for his reaction to the loss.
“I know this for a fact that this offseason is going to be probably the best offseason. We’re going to go to work and we’re going to come back motivated and ready to go,” Brown explained.
In addition, Bryant claimed that Brown will soon be in the conversation for the league’s best receiver. Brown has continued to improve in his first two seasons in Baltimore. This year, he improved in every major statistical category compared to his rookie season. Brown had 58 receptions for 769 yards and caught 8 touchdowns. So Bryant may be onto something if his teammate continues to progress.
“I’m proud of you big dog.. You will be in the conversation who the world think the best receiver in the NFL soon…in Hollywood I trust,” Bryant said to Brown on Twitter.
Dez Bryant Gets Emotional About First TD Since 2017
Dez Bryant, the longtime Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, seemed to be done in the NFL until this season. After multiple tryouts with teams in recent years, Bryant finally landed in Baltimore earlier this season. After years of success in Dallas, Bryant fought his way back into the league and made an impact in Week 15.
During the Ravens 40-14 victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Bryant caught an 11-yard touchdown – his first in three years. He kept the touchdown football and said he’s holding onto it for his daughter. In his postgame interview, Bryant stated that he’s still playing because of her.
“After I realized I scored, the first person I thought of was my baby girl,” he explained. “I had no intentions of playing ball. If it wasn’t for her, I don’t think I’d be out here. So that’s why I’ve got this football right here. This is the one I scored with, and I’m gonna give that to my baby girl because she’s the reason I’m out here.”
Bryant also admitted to holding back tears after the touchdown. He thanked his teammates as well for their overwhelming support.
“I’m being honest, I had to hold back my tears because it was very emotional. These guys here, they are 100. They are amazing, phenomenal people,” Bryant said.
