Triumphantly, Dez Bryant has finally caught his first touchdown since 2017. In true Dez fashion, after catching the touchdown, he dropped the football and threw up the famous “X” symbol with his arms.

This is certainly a feel-good moment for any fan of the NFL. Bryant has been battling back to the NFL for years after being released by the Dallas Cowboys. As any NFL fan knows, he signed with the Baltimore Ravens this year.

Even though it’s been a tumultuous season with the Ravens, the wide receiver welcomes the touchdown. For a brief moment, the NFL thought they were losing Bryant after he produced false-positive tests for Covid-19. He tweeted following the mid-game tests that he was going to be done for the year. But that wasn’t the case and this Sunday, as he caught his first Ravens touchdown.

Ravens’ quarterback Lamar Jackson threw an 11-yard pass in the second quarter to Bryant in the end zone. Additionally, Bryant’s score helped the Ravens to a 40-14 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Bryant Describes Scoring His First TD in Three Years

Bryant also kept the touchdown ball. After the game, the wide receiver talked about the overwhelming emotions of scoring the touchdown.

“After I realized I scored, the first person I thought of was my baby girl. I had no intentions of playing ball. If it wasn’t for her, I don’t think I’d be out here. So that’s why I’ve got this football right here. This is the one I scored with, and I’m gonna give that to my baby girl because she’s the reason I’m out here.”

But, his explanations of his feelings didn’t stop with keeping the ball for his daughter. He adds that the love and support from his teammates was incredibly moving.

“I’m being honest, I had to hold back my tears because it was very emotional. These guys here, they are 100. They are amazing, phenomenal people.”

Additionally, Lamar Jackson talks about what it means to get Bryant a touchdown. He spoke after the game about how special it was to be able to throw to the talented receiver.

“Man, we were [all] throwing up the X. We wanted to do that against Dallas, me and Marquise [Brown] were talking about that, and it just happened today. I’m happy he was the one throwing it up before we did. [As] you said, three years, that’s incredible he came back, got open on a broken-down play and he did the rest. Hat’s off to him.”

So, overall, a really special moment for the whole team, but especially the star receiver. It seems likely that there will certainly be more scores in the near future as the Ravens look to make the NFL playoffs.
