On Wednesday evening, former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning reunited with his teammate Victor Cruz at MetLife Stadium.

The pair played together in New York for six years and won Super Bowl XLVI against the New England Patriots. Manning earned his second Super Bowl victory – both against New England – in 2012 and Cruz earned Pro Bowl status that year.

The duo terrorized defenses for a few years early on in Cruz’s career. However, a series of unfortunate injuries slowed Cruz’s progression. He never made it back to his previous Pro Bowl-caliber form. In 2018, Cruz officially retired and joined ESPN as an analyst.

On the other hand, Manning didn’t call it quits until his official retirement in January 2020. The quarterback played 16 seasons with the Giants and will go down in history as a franchise great.

Giants fans will get nostalgic over the photo Manning shared on Wednesday of the former teammates reuniting. Manning and Cruz are pictured standing in the middle of MetLife Stadium’s field near the 45-yard line. Both played years in the stadium, so the visit likely brought back countless great memories of their days on the gridiron.

“I was just out for a little stroll today and look where I ended up and who I ran into!” Manning joked on Twitter.

Michael Strahan Wishes Eli Manning a Happy Birthday

On Jan. 3, Eli Manning celebrated his 40th birthday. One of the many well-wishers was his former Giants teammate Michael Strahan.

Strahan posted a throwback picture of the two teammates right after they won Super Bowl XLII. The pair are both still in full uniforms and wearing Super Bowl champs hats. The picture hilariously looks like Strahan is trying to choke Manning. The pair are both grinning ear to ear, so that’s obviously not the case. Yet, Strahan took the time to apologize anyway and said he just got too excited in the moment.

“Big day today!! Week 17 of the #NFL season. The @nygiants are fighting to win the division, and it’s my brotha Eli Manning’s birthday! Happy birthday Eli. A Giants win will cap it off nicely! 💪🏾” Strahan wrote on Instagram.

“P.S. Sorry I’m choking you, but I’m excited because we just won the Super Bowl. Lol,” he made sure to add.
