Well, maybe “happy” isn’t the word… stoic maybe? Perhaps Julio Jones is too busy thinking about the Atlanta Falcons missing the playoffs for the third year in a row to pay attention to the absolute beauty of a fish he nabbed. Whatever it is keeping his emotions at bay, it must be something big… bigger than that Wahoo.

Jones captioned his post,”Wahoo!!” His words give off more excitement than his facial expression, so maybe he is happier than he gives off. I mean, c’mon. Who wouldn’t be happy on vacation in the Dominican Republic off the coast of Punta Cana?

He showed an equal amount of excitement–or lack thereof– with the Mahi-Mahi.

Jones has always kept his emotions in check throughout his career. Despite consistently posting numbers among the top receivers in the league, Jones rarely if ever makes headlines. This is largely due to his calm and composed demeanor (as his post displays) and ability to avoid off the field trouble.

Will Julio Jones Be In Atlanta Next Year?

While you may not hear it from Jones himself, rumors of a Julio trade have drifted around the NFL. Especially with all of the Deshaun Watson drama happening in Houston, some experts think Julio and the Falcons might part ways this offseason. For instance, former star NFL receiver Chad Johnson believes Jones and Deshaun Watson could solve all of the New York Jets offensive problems.

Looking at it from the perspective of the Falcons organization, trading Jones would make some sense for them. However, saying goodbye to the best receiver your team has ever seen hurts. With an aging Matt Ryan and a troubled defense, Julio can only do so much for the organization.

By trading Jones, the Falcons would clear up plenty of cap space and give Julio a chance to play on a contending team. From there, the Falcons’ front office would just need to make some good decisions with draft picks and free agents. Unfortunately for Falcons fans, that isn’t really part of their M.O. However, the Falcons did recently fire their head coach and general manager, so perhaps Atlanta sports are turning a page. No promises…
