Floyd Mayweather Aiming to Fight Logan Paul: Here’s Potential Date & Location

The fight between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul may happen after all. TMZ is reporting both camps are closing in on a date and location for the fight.

They were scheduled to fight on February 20. But COVID-19 restrictions caused organizers to postpone the event. Now, TMZ is reporting the bout will likely take place in early June in Miami. Though, the date differs between multiple outlets. TMZ says June 6. The Athletic is reporting the fight will take place on June 5.

Though, nothing has been confirmed publicly.

Mayweather took to Instagram earlier this week to ask fans where they’d like to see the fight take place. Most responses seemed to want the fight to happen in Las Vegas.

Floyd Mayweather may be the greatest boxer of all time. He has a 50-0 record, with more than half of those ending in knockout. He’s also beaten the best fighters of his generation, including Oscar De La Hoya, Canelo Alvarez, and Manny Pacquiao. He came out of retirement in 2017 to beat MMA icon Conor McGregor.

Logan Paul is a YouTuber turned semi-pro fighter with an 0-1 record. He lost a split decision to fellow YouTuber KSI in 2018.

Mayweather is obviously the overwhelming favorite to win; even Paul’s own brother Jake Paul says the match is a “terrible idea.”

Regardless, it’s likely going to be a big payday for both fighters.

Brother Jake Paul Knocks Out MMA’s Ben Askren

Logan Paul’s chances are infinitesimally small to beat Mayweather, but his brother Jake Paul was a major underdog in his fight against retired MMA star Ben Askren. However, the YouTuber knocked out the fighter in under two minutes last week.

Though Askren was a wrestling champion and a strong grappler, having to stay on his feet and box helped even the odds.

Regardless, Askren was distraught when asked about the loss.

“I didn’t let the MMA community down, I let the world down,” Askren said, according to a USA Today Sports report. “People f—ing hate Jake Paul, and they wanted me to make him miserable.”

“I got knocked out by Jake Paul. Its f—ing embarrassing,” he added.

Paul’s record moves to 3-0, but this was his first bout against a professional fighter. His first fight was against fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib, and he faced retired NBA star Nate Robinson in his second. Paul has now earned knockouts in all three of his fights.
