Floyd Mayweather will earn up to $100 million from his eight-round exhibition fight with Logan Paul. Moreso, Floyd recently told TMZ that he’s already raked in somewhere around $30 million for the Logan fight— even before he threw a punch.
It gets even better for Floyd. Depending on the pay-per-view ratings, Floyd could potentially hit the 9-figure mark. During his 2017 fight against Conor McGregor, he pulled a whopping $350 million.
As for Paul, according to the Sun, he could earn as much as $20 million for the fight. Regarding Sunday’s exhibition fight, Floyd stated he’s aware people think it’s a no-win situation for him, but he remains unbothered.
“To me, it’s a win-win, but I’m in a no-win because if I knock him out fast in the 1st round, they’re gonna be like ‘Aw man, this wasn’t worth it.’ If I let it go a few rounds and drag it out, they’re gonna be like, ‘Aw man, he let a YouTuber hang in it for a few rounds’. But, it is what it is. We’re gonna have some fun Sunday.”
Mayweather currently holds a perfect 50-0 with 27 KOs. Yet he hasn’t been in a proper boxing match since 2015. Although he beat Conor McGregor in 2017 and then took down kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in a 2018 exhibition, some believe Mayweather is far from his prime.
As for Paul he lost his only professional bout to YouTuber KSI in 2019 in a split decision defeat. Other than that, Paul’s only relevant experience was when he wrestled in high school.
Floyd Mayweather Hints at Potential Fight With Jake Paul
Although Mayweather’s fight with Paul has not even taken place yet, some fans theorize that a potential bout with Logan’s younger brother, Jake, could happen next.
Not only is Jake Paul a more similar height and weight to Mayweather, but the pair already have beef after the YouTuber oddly stole the boxer’s hat at a press conference.
During an interview with TMZ Sports, Mayweather stated that Jake is “probably” his next opponent. TMZ’s reported asked: “Everything got ratcheted up after the incident with Jake. People are gonna ask you ‘Are you gonna fight Jake Paul after this one?’ What’s your answer to that Floyd?”
“Erm, we don’t know what the future holds,” Floyd responded. “But we’ll just see. After Logan, probably Jake. We don’t know. We’ll see.”
As a result, it’s not difficult to see why the boxing legend would welcome a fight with the other Paul brother.
