Floyd Mayweather is vehemently saying that he is not engaged. Reports began flooding in earlier today, January 21, that Mayweather had gotten engaged to his girlfriend, Anna Monroe.
The boxing legend is denying the rumors that two are going to tie the knot. On his Instagram earlier today, he made a point to put down the widespread rumor.
“I’m not engaged and have never been engaged or married. Those are just rumors and lies.”
So, despite the hype surrounding the newly announced engagement, Floyd Mayweather is having no part of it.
Initially, sources said that Floyd Mayweather proposed. These same people even claimed that a ring she was wearing was certain proof the two were getting married.
Floyd Mayweather Is Certainly Not Engaged
The rumors are purely baseless. Despite the couple taking an exotic vacation recently, it was said that Mayweather wanted to keep things between them private.
“Floyd was annoyed at first that news of their relationship broke because he wanted to keep it private. They argued about it but soon made up. And then he decided to pop the question on Saturday,” an anonymous source told The Sun.
Reports even surfaced that Mayweather wants her to have his child. Although he hasn’t denied those claims yet, marriage certainly isn’t a step he is taking yet. Floyd also has said that the two aren’t even dating. He says that we are “not even that.”
“Anna has told family and friends she’s getting married and wants to have a baby with Floyd this year,” the aforementioned source added.
It isn’t out of the question that Mayweather gave her the ring as a gift. The famous boxer has been known to shower his past girlfriends with expensive gifts, including one reportedly getting a $300,000 Rolls Royce in 2014.
Monroe is the lead dancer at Floyd Mayweather’s Las Vegas strip club, Girl Collection. She has also been featured in lingerie collection Instagram pages.
Additionally, Mayweather also has children with other women in his life. And, while the two have reportedly on and off again relationship since 2018, there seems to be no marriage in the future for the two.
