Former Boston Celtic Gordon Hayward landed a megadeal with the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. With the Hayward deal now done, that takes one of the league’s big fish free agents off of the market. ESPN NBA Reporter Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news on Saturday afternoon as well as providing the salary numbers on Hayward’s new lucrative contract.

“Free agent Gordon Hayward is signing a 4-year, $120 million deal with Charlotte, per source,” the reporter tweets.
Hayward became a free agent earlier this week after declining a $34.2 million player option with his previous team, the Boston Celtics, for next season, according to ESPN. This past season, Hayward averaged 17.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 52 games played after a rough start to his Celtics career. The forward was severely hurt six minutes into his debut game with the team and went on to miss the remainder of the 2017 season. During his three-year run with the Celtics, he missed 142 total games.
Hayward, however, has put up good numbers when healthy enough to be on the court. The Charlotte Hornets are banking on his return to full health by doling out a huge $100 million-plus contract.
