The 2021 National Football League preseason has not gotten off on the right foot for the Dallas Cowboys and now fans are upset.

Though it is only the preseason, the Dallas Cowboys couldn’t muster much of anything in their preseason opener. The team took on the Pittsburgh Steelers in the annual Hall of Fame Game preseason game in Canton, Ohio. Thursday evening’s matchup between the two teams marks the official start of the 2021 NFL season. The Cowboys fell behind the Steelers early in the contest on their way to defeat by a score of 16-3. The game was quite sloppy for both teams, which is to be expected in preseason games. The preseason does not count to a team’s win-loss record and is practically just practice exhibitions. It certainly seems like the Dallas Cowboys have much to work on before the regular starts in a little over a month.

After an abysmal 2020 campaign that saw a great deal of injury to some of the star players, the team is looking for a bounce back. Dallas Cowboys fans are also hoping for a much better season and a run to the NFL playoffs. Despite it being just a preseason game, fans are frustrated with the team for the effort against the Steelers. Many of those fans took to social media to vent their frustrations with the way their team is playing.

“The Steelers take home the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game victory,” the social media post proclaims.

Dallas Cowboy Fans Vent on Social Media

Dallas Cowboys Fans are known for their passion in supporting their team. But after a poor showing in the preseason exhibition game, some are voicing their frustrations.

“I noticed a few players that really didn’t have the drive to play up to their hype and potential,” a social media user says.

Same old Dallas Cowboys,” another fan writes. “We can’t play defense or offense. This is a disappointing start to the season.”

“I’m afraid it is going to be a long season for us Cowboy fans,” another says. “I know it is just preseason but it wasn’t good at all on either side of the ball. Got to hope they wake up before the real season gets here.”

Despite the thumping at the hands of the Steelers, some Dallas Cowboy fans found reason for optimism. Much of this enthusiasm lies in the fact that Dallas expects some key pieces to return from the injury list. One of those players hoping for a return is franchise quarterback Dak Prescott. The quarterback missed most of the 2020 NFL season with a lower body injury. When healthy, Dak Prescott is one of the best quarterbacks in the league. If the Dallas Cowboys are to have a successful 2021 season, Prescott will have to stay healthy throughout the year.
