WWE Hall of Famer, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin turns 56 today. To celebrate, we’re reliving some of the wrestling legend’s most entertaining career moments.
When the signature sound of shattering glass erupted throughout the arena, everyone knew “Stone Cold” Austin was about to raise some hell. Trained by “Gentleman” Chris Adams, Austin began his career in the wrestling business in Texas in 1990 as part of the United States Wrestling Association. He quickly moved on to World Championship Wrestling, where he won the WCW Television Championship with the name “Stunning” Steve Austin.
However, the WCW had to fire Austin after he sustained an elbow injury. Luckily, he was able to get back into the ring a few years later. The rest is Stone Cold history. Here are a few of Stone Cold’s career highlights.
Steve Austin Debuts As “The Ringmaster” For WWE
Austin joined World Wrestling Entertainment in January 1996 debuting as “The Ringmaster.” Austin defeated Savio Vega in a WrestleMania contest. Shortly after, “Stone Cold” was born.

Stone Cold Goes To Hollywood
Dreams came true for dedicated Austin fans when Austin’s stardom moved from at-home televisions to the big screen. Austin made his Hollywood debut with the film, The Condemned, the first film in a three-part series produced by WWE Films.
However, Austin already had a little acting experience under his (championship) belt before the film. Austin had a supporting role in The Longest Yard, starring Adam Sandler. Later in his career, Austin also acted in The Expendables alongside Sylvester Stallone and Maximum Conviction with Steven Seagal.
Austin Dishes Out Brutality In Reality Competition Show
The Rattlesnake continued his legacy of putting others through hell with his show, Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge. The show was a grueling, athletic competition during which contestants competed in a series of obstacles.
In order to win a $10,000 grand prize, contestants had to successfully make it through the “Skullbuster.” The show aired for three seasons from 2014-2017.
Austin Provides Stone Cold Beer For Stone Cold Fans
Austin teamed up with El Segundo Brewing Company to release “Steve Austin’s Broken Skull IPA.” According to the website, the beer is “a bad-ass 6.7% IPA designed by Steve Austin and ESBC for the working man and woman.”
The beer features Citra, Chinook and Cascade hops. He recently posted a photo on Instagram celebrating the five year anniversary of the beer’s release.
