A new season of “Hard Knocks” is now upon us and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott will be one of the main draws for the show.
“Hard Knocks” is an HBO show that takes viewers inside of a National Football League training camp. The show has garnered much acclaim for giving NFL fans the access they so deeply desire. This season, “Hard Knocks” is featuring the Dallas Cowboys as they seek to turn things around in the 2021 season. The Cowboys had a forgettable 2021 season as they missed the playoffs once again in a weak NFC East division. If the Cowboys are to make a move back to prominence this season, a healthy Dak Prescott will make all the difference.
One of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, Dak Prescott missed most of the 2020 NFL season while dealing with an injury. As a result, the Dallas Cowboys were forced to plat their second and third string quarterbacks throughout the season. It was a common occurrence for the team in 2020, as both offense and defense dealt with a plethora of injuries during the season. Now, the Dallas Cowboys, along with a fairly healthy quarterback in Dak Prescott, will look to turn the tables this year.
Dak Prescott’s injury last season led to him receiving two major surgeries on his badly hurt ankle. As a result, the star quarterback has some rather gnarly surgery scars on his foot. Prescott dislocated and broke his ankle last October while playing in a regular season game. The injury was so severe that he needed immediate surgery to repair the ligaments in his right ankle.
Dak Prescott Discusses Gruesome Injury
During the premiere episode of this season’s “Hard Knocks,’ Dak Prescott revealed the surgery scars to the world. The scars are quite gruesome and unpleasant to look at so view the video with caution.
While the reminders of his injury are there for him to see every day, Dak Prescott says he is focused on the upcoming season. He will have to have his mind on the season in order for his Dallas Cowboys team to succeed. He talks about the injury and the procedures that followed in last night’s “Hard Knocks” episode.
“When I had the first surgery, it was an open wound,” Dak Prescott says. “And, they just wanted to go in and do what they needed to do initially. I thought I was going to be able to start rehab and yet I had to go back under the knife.”
He went on to declare himself completely healthy and ready for the upcoming 17-game season. Like fans of the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott sees a strong year coming for the team.
On top of his foot and ankle injury, it is being reported that the quarterback may have a shoulder injury to worry about. The new injury was enough to keep him out of the team’s first preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
