Large strong man, Hulk Hogan, paid tribute to giant strong man, André the Giant, on social media.

Former pro wrestler, Hulk Hogan took to Twitter to honor later professional wrestler and actor, André the Giant. Hogan shared several photos of the two together in the ring. Along with the photos, Hogan wrote, “We had our differences and it really wasn’t fun when the Boss was pissed off at me but it was a very serious learning curve and in the end we were like brothers Love U Boss R.I.P. You were the best! HH”

Hulk Hogan And André The Giant Were Rivals In The Ring But Friends In Real Life

Hulk and Andre first met in 1980, when André competed as the face and Hulk as the heel. Both known as large and strong men, the two formed one of the most popular professional wrestling rivalries in wrestling history. The two fought for the next decade holding their last match in 1990.

Despite their in-the-ring feud, the two remained friends in real life. By late 1986, Hulk Hogan and André the Giant were wrestling’s two most popular stars. When Hogan won the WWE Championship, André was the first wrestler to pour champagne on his head. If that’s not friendship, we don’t know what is!

Standing at seven feet, five inches, and weighing about 500 pounds, André the Giant was more than just a wrestler. In fact, just like Hulk Hogan made his way into movies, André also became an actor. André was in several films. Most notably, he starred in the 1987 classic, The Princess Bride. During the film, André the Giant plays Fezzik, the muscle (with a heart of gold) in a group of misfit bandits. However, just like André was in real life, Fezzik truly is a gentle giant. The film was an instant hit and still considered a classic today.
