Since the Arizona Cardinals drafted him Tenth overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, Josh Rosen has been a highwayman. Right now, in his first game as a San Fransisco 49er, his Twitter bio shows his journey.

Right now, Rosen’s banner picture has him in front of a Miami Dolphins background while his bio states that he plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At the moment, neither of those are up to date. He just started his first game as a San Fransisco 49er against his former team, the Arizona Cardinals.

To be fair, Josh Rosen only signed with the 49ers on Wednesday, so Twitter likely didn’t take priority. Rosen hopefully focused harder on learning the playbook, settling in, and preparing for today’s game.

After all, Coach Kyle Shanahan will call his number if C. J. Beathard goes down. With both Jimmy Garappolo and Nick Mullins on the injured reserve list, C. J. Beathard was the only quarterback on the depth chart before Wednesday.

Josh Rosen NFL Career

After a fruitful career at UCLA, the Arizona Cardinals drafted Josh Rosen tenth overall. Both parties hoped that Rosen could be their franchise quarterback for years to come. After their first season together, it became obvious that wasn’t the case. As a result, the Cardinals drafted Kyler Murray out of Oklahoma with the number one pick of the draft and traded Rosen to the Miami Dolphins.

Josh Rosen sat behind Ryan Fitzpatrick for two games before the Dolphins named him the starter. He relieved Fitzpatrick in each of the first two games. He proved not to be too much more efficient as a starter. In those two and a half games, Rosen totaled only 465 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions before Fitzpatrick replaced him once again in week 5.

In 2020, Josh Rosen signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Practice Squad, where he remained until this Wednesday.
