For the second consecutive year, Daytona will host the Daytona Road Course Race. This year, however, Kevin James will fill the role of Grand Marshal for the events on Sunday. This means that the star of Netflix’s “The Crew” will lead all ceremonies for the weekend filled with fun racing.

Jim Utter, a NASCAR journalist, broke the news earlier today. According to Utter, Kevin James will serve as the grand marshal for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race. This event will take place at the Daytona Motor Speedway Road Course.

“The Crew,” the new Kevin James Netflix sitcom, outlines the life and happenings of a bumbling NASCAR pit crew chief who has to get used to a new boss. Kevin James’ character in “The Crew” mimic many character molds that he has created in his past work. In this new setting, however, the role seems somewhat fresh however unoriginal. The show is available on Netflix and currently has one season online.
