Lamar Odom Signs Celebrity Boxing Deal, First Fight in Summer 2021

The celebrity boxing ring continues. It’s newest member, two-time NBA champ Lamar Odom.

The former NBA player has signed a deal with Celebrity Boxing, according to TMZ. He’s stepping into the ring on June 12 at the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

He might be ready to fight, but Odom is currently waiting for an opponent. However, Celebrity Boxing creator, Damon Feldman is searching for a “big-name celeb” to square-off against Lamar.

Singer Aaron Carter is also on the card. But like Odom, he has yet to find out his opponent.

Lamar Odom in Recent Years

Odom’s been trying to find his next venture in the past years. He tried to make a comeback in basketball and was apart of Ice Cube’s Big3 League for a short period of time. Additionally, he was on ABC’s hit show “Dancing With the Stars.”

Now, Lamar Odom has turned his attention to boxing. TMZ says that he’s fully committed to training before this upcoming fight.

Celebrity Boxing Trend on the Rise

You might remember at the end of last year that a celebrity fight was organized. The main event showcased an exhibition between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones, Jr. Included on the card was another former basketball player, but Nate Robinson didn’t fair too well. Robinson was matched up against Youtuber Jake Paul.

Halfway through the second round, Robinson caught a right hand from Paul that sent him face down to the floor. Both Paul and Robinson have no prior boxing experience, but somehow the social media star seemed to prevail.

Now, Paul is setting his sights on professional fighters, like that of Conor McGregor. The amateur fighter has been taunting McGregor and UFC head honcho Danna White about stepping up to the challenge. The Ultimate Fighting Championship President isn’t giving into to Paul’s demands. As a matter of fact, White has said, “I’m thinking of letting Amanda Nunes knock his ass out.”
