On Saturday, NBA superstar LeBron James reposted former President Barack Obama’s tweet of a video showing him shoot a casual three-pointer and sinking it on his way out of a gym. James poked fun at Obama saying the former president was “showing out.”
Fresh off his fourth NBA championship, James showed some love to Obama who he called his friend. The perennial All-Star knows a good basketball shot when he sees one. The former president’s nothing but net three-pointer left James impressed, so he retweeted the video while adding an amusing caption.
“Now you just showing out now my friend!! That’s what you do huh?? Ok ok I see. All cash!” James wrote to Obama.
Barack Obama Hits 3-Pointer, Claims “That’s What I Do!”
Obama joined his former vice president and presidential candidate on Saturday at a drive-in campaign rally at Northwestern High School in Flint, Michigan. At some point, the pair were in the school’s gymnasium, at least passing through it.
In the short 20-second clip, Obama is seen walking down the sideline of the basketball court on his way out of the gym. He’s wearing dress pants, dress shoes, a jacket and a mask – by no means is he prepared to play a pickup game. However, someone passes him a basketball when he gets to the far corner of the court near the exit. He takes the bounce pass in, steps up to the three-point line with one dribble, and lets it fly with his signature left-handed shot. The former president still has it – he sinks it on the first try.
The dozen people or so in the gym immediately scream at the impressive shot. One is heard shouting “Ohhhhh!!!” while another repeatedly says “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!” A third individual is heard saying, “Walk off!” in reference to a game-ending shot.
Obama says, “That’s what I do,” as he literally walks off the court and out of the gym. The small crowd laughs as the camera zooms in. The president pulls his mask down slightly so his words aren’t muffled this time: “That’s what I do!!” Obama exclaimed.
Obama and his team captioned the Twitter video by writing, “Shoot your shot. iwillvote.com”
