U.S. retired gymnast and former Olympian McKayla Maroney took to her Instagram on Tuesday to share a new pic, with the caption, “Is it cool if I leave this here.”  In the snap, Maroney is wearing a gorgeous high neck brown, pink, and white shirt with brown bottoms looking like she’s enjoying the sunny day.

McKayla’s 1.3 million followers didn’t seem to have any problems being positive about the pic, with one saying, “You’re beautiful.” “Absolutely.” and lots of heart emojis.

McKayla Maroney’s Life From Renowned Athlete

Maroney is best known as a member of the “Fierce Five” American Women’s gymnastics team during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. During her time as an Olympian, she won a gold medal in the team and an individual silver medal in the vault even.

McKayla was also a member of the American team at the 2011 World Champions and defended her World title by winning the gold medal on vault at the 2012 World Champions. The young athlete then became the first U.S. female gymnast to defend a World Champion vault title.

Maroney officially retired from the spot in 2016.

McKayla Experiences Some Health Issues in 2021

McKayla Maroney has since transitioned from the gym to going in front of the camera as an Instagram model. Earlier this year, the 25-year-old had surgery after being rushed to the ER in February for painful kidney stones. She experienced the usual symptoms, pain and throwing up. At the time, she shared with her followers what happened.

“Tuesday I was throwing up all day, with severe pain in my back and stomach,” Maroney reveals. “Had to come to ER at 3 am because [the] pain kept getting worse, and I couldn’t stop throwing up… Just got my CT scan back. I have a few kidney stones.”

Upon getting the all clear to head home, Maroney kept her followers in the loop by stating, “Home from ER. They treated me wonderful, but unfortunately nothing has changed, just on pain management.”

One month later, Maroney was heading back to the hospital for the surgery. McKayla shared a video of her heaving a sigh of relief after doctors finished a procedure to deal with the stones. Then she put on a touch of gloss and gave her best pouty smile for the camera.

“Not gonna lie. I really didn’t want surgery.” McKayla explains. “I was pretty sad and scared of bad possible outcomes and the pain. I’m happy it’s over but it’s gonna be at least another week of pain with this stint then I’ll be good, I think.”

McKayla has since recovered from the surgery and is happily showing off her gorgeous smile on Instagram.
