Michael Strahan has tested positive for COVID-19.
Football fans also noticed Strahan’s absence from his time on “FOX NFL Sunday.” The former NFL star was not in attendance as he was already taking precautions and isolating himself until he received the confirmation of the test results.
Sources close to Strahan says that he found out on Saturday that he had been exposed at some point last week. As a result, he immediately started quarantining. Furthermore, Strahan plans to appear remotely on “GMA” Thursday to discuss his diagnosis and give more information. At this moment, he’s not experiencing any severe symptoms.
Michael Strahan Daughters were Potentially Exposed
Reports have also come to light that Strahan’s daughters came into contact with the TV host after he had been exposed. They’re getting tested, as well as their mother Jean. The girls live with her most of the time, so it only makes sense that she, too, would get tested. Sources report that they are still waiting for their test results.
Strahan might be checking in on “GMA,” but there are still talks of how and if he’s going to continue working during this time. It is doable, as we’ve seen other anchors fulfill their hosting duties remotely.
Moreover, this isn’t “Good Morning America’s” first run-in with the coronavirus. Michael Strahan’s co-host George Stephanopoulos tested positive for COVID-19 last year.
Strahan Still Talks Football on Twitter During Quarantine
Strahan might’ve been quarantining during Sunday’s NFC Championship broadcast, but that didn’t stop him from tweeting. The football player turned TV host didn’t say anything about his condition. However, he shared a tweet about his interview with Tom Brady.
Strahan writes, “One game away from being in the Super Bowl. My one on one interview with my man, @TomBrady, as he plays in another conference championship game. @NFLonFOX #NFLPlayoffs #TBvsGB”
There’s also a clip from their one-on-one interview.
