On Tuesday, former NFL great turned daytime talk show host Michael Strahan said goodbye to his trademark gap-toothed smile. Now, current Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is considering the procedure as well after seeing Strahan’s results.

Strahan posted the big reveal in a short video to his Twitter account. “I did it. #GoodbyeGap,” Strahan simply wrote on the post. The clip shows a behind-the-scenes look into the recent procedure on his teeth.

Although Mayfield doesn’t have nearly as prominent of a gap between his two front teeth, there is a bit of separation. It sounds like the quarterback is seriously considering looking into the same procedure. Especially since Strahan’s results came out looking flawless. Mayfield retweeted Strahan’s post and tagged the former New York Giants defensive lineman in his response.

“I mean… if @michaelstrahan did it.. I gotta do it right?” Mayfield wrote on Twitter.

Michael Strahan Reveals New Smile

Although April Fool’s Day is right around the corner, Michael Strahan’s recent unveiling of his new teeth doesn’t seem to be a joke.

You might be a fan of the former Super Bowl champion from his 15-year career with the New York Giants. Additionally, you may love the celebrity from his co-hosting duties on ABC’s Good Morning America. Regardless, anyone who knows Michael Strahan knows his signature gap-toothed smile.

That’s why it became a huge story yesterday when Strahan finally decided to fix his teeth. In the clip he shared, he references how many people have told him not to go through with the procedure. After spending years in the spotlight, it’s become part of Strahan’s look. But Strahan says he’s following through with it and doing it for himself.

“If I go home and say I’m going to do it, it’ll be ‘don’t do it.’ If I post [on social media], it’ll be ‘don’t do it.’ If I talk to my friends, it’ll be ‘don’t do it.’ If I talk to my business partner, it’ll be ‘don’t do it.’ But I’ve got to do what I want to do for myself now, you know?” Strahan explained in his video.

Fans of Strahan’s online have been overwhelmingly supportive of his new look. Yet many people also reminded him that his smile was perfectly fine before the procedure as well.
