Mike Tyson is no Van Gogh, but when it comes to ears, the two might have something in common.
While gearing up for his comeback fight against Roy Jones Jr., 54-year-old former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson celebrated Thanksgiving eve with some cake. Not just any cake, however. This particular dessert has been shaped and decorated to look just like his competitor’s head.
And what was the first part to be eaten by Tyson? Jones’s ear, naturally.
In a hilarious video, Tyson and his children share in the feast together.
“Hey kids, we have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. You just can’t imagine.”
Tyson unveils the head cake as he smiles and says, “tada!” His children look at him quizzically.
“It’s a turkey… Well, I like ears. What would you like?”
His daughter takes the nose, while his son takes the head.
His son looks at him and says, “Dad, this is delicious!’ where Tyson responds, “Mmm, so good! Tastes so much better than Evanders. Roy tastes real good. Happy Thanksgiving, guys!”
Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr.
On Saturday night, both former boxers will come out of retirement to battle it out in the ring once again for an exhibition match. In addition, each fighter has vowed to knock out the other.
Roy Jones Jr. ended his career in February of 2018 with a record of 66 and 9 with 47 knockouts.
On the other hand, during Tyson‘s 20-year career, he racked up a 50 and 6 record, but he hasn’t fought since June of 2005 where he lost to Kevin McBride. After the fight, Tyson said that he didn’t have “the guts to be in this sport anymore.”
His last win was in February of 2003, when he fought Clifford Etienne.
In 1997, Tyson memorably took off a piece of Evander Holyfield’s ear during a fight. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen again this Saturday to Jones Jr!
