Former NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer has pinpointed Chase Elliott as the driver to beat this weekend at the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte, NC.

As a former NASCAR driver for 15 years, Bowyer has an eye for this sort of thing. Elliott pulled off a huge win at the EchoPark Texas Grand Prix this past weekend. However, Bowyer thinks the No. 9 crew can make it back to back wins on Sunday.

Elliott is one of the top road course drivers in all of NASCAR, and he proved that once again on May 23. Charlotte Motor Speedway is more of a classic oval track. Yet Bowyer is confident Elliott will get the job done once again.

“It’s the guy that just won last week, it’s Chase Elliott obviously. Everybody knows it’s Chase Elliott, he’s on a roll. He’s on the wave, he’s riding it,” Bowyer said of his favorite to win on Sunday.

In addition, Bowyer has teamed up with FOX Bet for “Clint’s Stage 2 Contest.” The game can be played by downloading the FOX Bet Super 6 app on all smart devices. If fans correctly answer six questions about the Coca-Cola 600, they’ll have a chance to win $25,000 and a Camping World RV.

The six questions are:

– Which driver will have the best finishing position at the end of stage 2?
– Which driver will have the most points in the race by the end of stage 2?
– Who will have the most laps led by the end of stage 2?
– How many Chevy’s will finish in the top 15 of stage 2?
– Which manufacturer will have the most cars in the top 10 of stage 2?
– Which team will win stage 2?

Chase Elliott Wins First NASCAR Race Held at the Circuit of The Americas

Like Clint Bowyer highlighted, Chase Elliott just won the inaugural Echopark Texas Grand Prix in Austin, TX. Following a long, rainy day of racing, NASCAR officials called the race with 14 laps to go. It would be the final delay of the day at the Circuit of The Americas road course. And one that would award Elliott with the victory since he led all drivers at the time of the stoppage.

Elliott and his No. 9 crew are one of the most accomplished road course teams on the circuit. The win makes it six road course victories for the NASCAR driver – and 12 Cup Series wins in total. According to FOX Bet, the source favored Elliott to win on Sunday at +250 odds. Even though oddsmakers aren’t always correct, they were spot on this past weekend.

“I couldn’t be more excited,” Elliott said in a post-race interview with FOX. “I’ve never won a rain race before so it’s kind of cool. Just super proud of our team for just continuing to fight. Start of the day, we weren’t very good. Kept pushing myself, kept making some good changes throughout the day. And got to where I thought we were on pace with those guys there at the end. Really proud of that.”

Inclement weather marred the much-hyped first race weekend for NASCAR at the Circuit of The Americas road course. But the racing itself didn’t disappoint. Altogether the Echopark Texas Grand Prix had 11 different lead changes in the race. But the odds on favorite in Chase Elliott made a late push and never looked back.
