NASCAR Icon Dale Earnhardt Jr. Spends Time with Brad Paisley in Nashville as Racing Returns to the Music City

Country superstar Brad Paisley and NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. teamed up recently. They are celebrating the return of racing to the city of Nashville. The two joined up as part of an NBC Sports promotional campaign.

NBC’s new campaign is going to launch during the Indianapolis 500 on May 30. The promotional event will feature both the legendary driver and country musician. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Brad Paisley will be at The Grand Ole Opry House to welcome the sport back to Nashville.

After 37 years, NASCAR will have the Cup Series take place in Nashville. The race is going to happen on the weekend of June 18-20 at the Nashville Superspeedway. During the event, the race track will also host the Xfinity series as well as truck races.

Brad Paisley and Dale Earnhardt Jr. will both be part of the pre-race broadcast. In an interview, the country star talked about how excited he is for the broadcast.

“I’m so excited that NASCAR is returning to Nashville – after 37 long years,” Paisley said. “I get to kick off the 2021 NASCAR season by hosting the NBC Sports’ pre-race coverage with my buddy Dale Jr. – how cool is that going to be?”

NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. also talked about his excitement. “I’m thrilled to work with my friend Brad Paisley to welcome NASCAR back to one of my favorite cities,” he said in the same interview. “I can’t wait to get on the Peacock Pit Box with Brad, celebrate the passionate racing fans in and around Nashville, and kick off NBC Sports’ portion of the NASCAR season in style.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Decided to Retire From Nascar Because of His Wife

Recently, Earnhardt Jr. talked about his decision to retire from NASCAR. While there was a lot that went into the decision, he talked about how his wife was a major reason.

The legendary driver talked spoke on a podcast called The Artist and The Athlete with Lindsay Czarniak. He noted that he was in a financial decision that allowed him to retire. He also said that he wanted to spend more time with his children. “All these things were sort of falling into place that made it a much easier decision.”

Then he dropped the news about his wife. “If I had been single, I’d still be racing. No question. That’s not to put it on Amy and say she’s the reason. She’ll say, ‘don’t put that on me.’”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. talked about how he was selfish while he was racing when he was single. Then, when he got married, a lot of things changed for him. Consequently, he became a family man. He also noted that after he got married, he wasn’t as devoted to driving.

The former NASCAR driver said, “I had accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish, or I could accomplish. And plus, you know, I had all the injuries and that stuff, but even with those, I think I’d still be racing if I’d never gotten married.”
